Pack Rat

My attic apartment has been my home for the past 2.5 years, which is crazy considering I have made 16 temporay moves after I started college six years ago!
I found this place on Facebook Market place in the Fall 2009.  It was dirt cheap.  If I passed on it I would have been considered dumb.  However, there was a slight hiccup.  This two bedroom and one bathroom attic apartment had another tenant in it... a 32-year-old male.  Initially I was skeptical because I would be moving in with a stranger let alone with a guy.

After many lists of pros and cons, as well as my family dishing out their advice not to do it, I decided to go against the grain and move in.  My decision was based upon the fact that I had a very small salary, the sheriff's office was at the end of the street, and rent was cheap.  So I moved in with Nick-y.

Have you ever seen The Big Bang Theory?  Well that was our life.  I was the next door neighbor that was well, ditzy, and Nick was the crazy scientist who loved to tell me about 'nerdy' things.  I still remember the day when he bought a Schrodinger's cat shirt and was so excited.  I wasn't impressed because the shirt was lame and it was about a cat.  He delightfully told me about the story, which included quantum theory and superposition.  I stood there with a look of "why did you order this again?"  In the long run we had a lot of fun together.

Nick was a constant.  He would walk into my room, sit on the floor, and explain his whole day in great detail... much of it I didn't understand.  I would talk about my running while he ate Ben and Jerry's ice cream and tell me he didn't understand why I did it.  We were strange.  He was there when Evan and I first started to play Scrabble and he would be the Live Dictionary and would provide in-depth definitions.  He would Skype with his dad in Poland because his dad believed the mofia was after him. I would cook something and offer it to him, and he would politely say no.  Here are some of our best stories -

We had a lot of good memories in this apartment, but now it is time to move on.  Move up in the world and start my life with my love.  Get a closet and washer/dryer :).  Onwards to June 30th as we head East!
