Giving for Christmas

I'm super proud of the Jones/Nelson kids this Christmas because instead of receiving gifts for Christmas from the aunts and uncles they did a charitable activity by giving tie-blankets to people in need.  The nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles all gathered at Steve and Dawn's house on Christmas Eve to cut, tie knots and bows, and deliver the blankets.  It was such an awesome experience to hear the kids say "it is better to give than receive" and watching they hand deliver the blankets to the De Smet emergency room.
We made a total of four tie blankets (2 boy themed and 2 girl themed).
Everyone from the oldest niece to the boys to the youngest niece (2) participated :).  Proud auntie!
Braxton tying knots on the boy blanket...
Gella cutting strips to prepare for the others to tie….

Colton working hard and even Isabelle learned how to tie knots!
As you can see everyone was active in the activity and what we thought would take 4 hours actually only took 2!  These kids were rockstars!
Braxton tying ribbon onto all the blankets and prepping them for delivery.  I wish I could have actually gotten a picture of the kids handing them to the nurses, explaining the project that the blankets were for people in need and telling them "Merry Christmas!"
And finally a cute picture of Isabelle rocking her bike with the baby seat and basket for her kitty from Steve and Dawn!
