Fascination with Cows

Cows.  I'm not sure when I started loving cows.  Like I was hard core growing up.  I would beg my dad to buy me a cow and we could keep it up at Kyle's (a neighbor's pasture a mile away).  Luckily my dad was smart and never did.  I thought they seemed so peaceful and I wanted to have home-made milk.  In my mind I was going to milk Bessie twice a day.

Anyways, here are some of my top cow theories/memories.

1.)  I blame calving season for crazy spring schedules.
Okay, stick with me on this one.  You know the ranchers and farmers that are out at the barn at all hours of the night waiting for Bessie to have Beatrice?  They never know when Beatrice is going to arrive… but they know she will.  So they have to constantly be on their toes.

You know during the spring months there will be banquets, graduations, weddings… basically hoopla!  There will always be something coming up on the agenda and it will be fun and good, but you never know when it will be.  So you must just stay on your toes and be flexible.

2.) "GET UP COW!!"
If cows are laying down you know bad weather is coming.  It is inevitable.  Hail, rain, wind, tsunamis, tornadoes, and probably a typhoon.

This actually been proven that cows will lay down to ensure they have a dry place.  Therefore, they lay down when bad weather comes.  They probably have a sixth sense or something… So yell "GET UP COW!" if you see one laying down.  Right Megan and Sarah! :)

3.) "HEY COW!!"
Mannie actually taught me this one.  You yell "HEY COOOW!" out your open window (do not yell this in a closed car). And count how many cows look.  Whoever can get the most to look at them wins.  Random - Yes! Fun - Yes! Road trip - Yes!
