We have been a lucky little couple with visitors and family! So far we have meet up with Evan's co-worker friend Nic, my former Canaries co-worker Erin, our mutual friend Steve, my former college classmate/roommate Bethany, and my cousin Laura We're so thankful for these memories! Here is recap from the visits…
Broadway deep dish pizza is AMAZING! The good thing is that is about 1/2 mile away. The bad thing is it is about 1/2 mile away. Evan and I have had pizza almost every week up here. It gets expensive so we also have made three homemade ones. Check out today's latest creation: veggie delight! (Thank you Susan for the pizza pan!)
When Bethany came to visit we made her easy manicotti from our dear friend Chelsea's recipe book. Delish!! We also played some bags in our backyard… a strip of grass :) Evan and I are thinking of setting up the boards in the townhouse because, well we don't have any furniture. I like to call this urbanization.
Steve came up this past Saturday and we were able to explore the Maple Grove Mongo Grill. A much cleaner version of HuHut - delicious, but oh so much! We'll definitely miss see him and his wife when they move to Alaska in a month. However, Evan and I just made up a plan that on our five year we are going to head to Alaska to visit :) We couldn't be more excited!!!
Erin showed up later that night. We used to be the only female employees at the Canaries and lived with her for a while. Basically she has experienced all my promotion craziness first-hand. We headed to a St. Paul Saints baseball game to see Schwab. He used to be the GM at the Canaries and is now the GM at the Saints. If you ever want see a crazy atmosphere and watch some decent baseball go there. Ps. Saints won!
My final excursion was with my cousin Laura. She has lived up in the cities her entire life and works at Caterpillar. A really cool thing about her is that she is a huge kitchen guru and can make any veggie taste good. We met at the Maple Grove Farmers Market. It is the third biggest one in the Twin Cities area. Imagine tents upon tents lined up with all sorts of veggies, speciality bread, and gorgeous flowers!! If you ever want a HUGE bouquet of vibrant flowers I would say go there. It was awesome! I only got green peppers, green beans, and a cranberry/orange bread. Omgoodness the bread was heavenly - check it out! Thanks the Holmes/Karnofski/Redd family for the bread knife!
