We win - TWINS!

Our final stop on the trip was a Twins game - bucket list #46!  My first Target field experience!  Yet there were two catches.
1.) There was a storm coming so the game could have been potentially cancelled.
2.) We didn't have tickets.

Evan was determined to go to the game whether it was going to rain or not.  I was super excited that I had a large purse because we were able to pack the ponchos!
Paulie and Mickey!
We scalped our tickets from some sleazy guy, and the seats turned out to be AWESOME.  The seats were on the 3rd base side on lower level just under the over hang.  So if the storm did happen we wouldn't need the ponchos!
We got into the stadium around 5:45pm and watched a little pre-show entertainment… like T.C. Bear and the Bernie Brewer, and even some photos down by the field.
Fun story: Notice the shirts :) That was me begging to go to the outlet mall just north of the Cities.  Evan only gave me an 1 hour and 15 minutes, but I made it through all the stores.  Sweet purchases of Twins shirts for both of us AND a kick-butt white leather jacket - 75% off.  LOVE IT!
The storm did come - twice!  The first one hit about 7:00p.m.  The game was scheduled for 7:10p.m.
Rain delay...
This lady had a very important job of guarding the tarp...
And the interns are off!  It was neat to see someone else do the process of tarping a field.  After the first storm, it was not going to be "PLAY BALL!" because another horrible storm was approaching.  Another hour passed and all of a sudden the storm rolled in.  People were being ushered into safer places because it was like a monsoon with 70 mph winds, trench-al rain and hail! Scary!!
Finally at 9:10p.m. the umpire yelled, "PLAY BALL!"  The atmosphere was crazy - almost every fan stayed through the entire game.  People were yelling, cheering, and high-fiving… you just don't get that back in SoDak at a Pheasant's game!

The Twins beat the Brewers 6-2!

The game concluded at midnight and we still needed to drive home.  Evan and I split up the driving time and arrived back in Brookings from our vacation around 4:45a.m.

Thank you Evan for an awesome vacation because:
We came home as happy as we left.  Therefore, we had a good vacation :)
