Six Foot Bunnies.

I called it.
I knew it was going to happen.
So why did I still attempt it… because I refuse to be defeated!

Last Saturday at the SDSU men's basketball game I was to select a fan of the game.  I wanted to find the youngest baby.  In fashionable style I stood and stared at the crowd.  Yes, I felt like an oober creeper but I wanted that oo aa factor.

I spotted a kid.  A 10 month old baby boy dressed in a Jackrabbit jersey.  He was mine!  I made my way into the stands and asked his parents if they would mind bringing their boy down to be the fan of the game.  Oh they were excited - their baby boy was going to be famous!!  Then, another thought hit me… have Jack Rabbit hold the kid!  Genius!

I know kids are afraid of mascots so I wanted to practice.  I got Jack into the stands and told him to hold the baby.  Baby did not cry and seemed fine.  Alright things were going great… or so I thought!  I lined up for the baby, parents, and Jack to come down to the NW corner two minutes before halftime.  As I told Swany over the radio the baby's name, I also said this could be my best or worst idea yet.

Time came and it was time for the baby to go on the court; however the Jackrabbit was not there yet.  So dad was going on with the kid. The camera man came over and started shooting…. all of a sudden here comes Jack running at the baby and tries to grab him!! OMG, the kid screamed and cried.  All of this was captured on the camera/big screen in Frost Arena.

I did get the oo aa factor, but it was pity ones!

Note: Six foot bunnies running at a 10-mo.-old baby will never be cute.
It will be a sob/shaking/scream fest for 15 seconds.
Epic Fail.
