Through my chattering teeth and frost bitten toes, I remember summer will be here soon. Hard to imagine, right? I actually wish I could hit the pause button on life for about a week to get stuff situated in my life.
Within the next week I have to get quite a bit done. Here it is folks and my ridiculousness on the subjects!
Internships.
OMGoodness. This is like a little kid in the candy store. You can google 'internships for graduate students' and the results are in the millions. So narrow it down a little to paid internships. Still maybe half a million results. Now it is up to me to research these. Uffda! This is the fun part, the dirty party is where I lose all confidence. I need to make my electronic application stand apart. Highlight on the resume: I was a bird? Yeah, I know what you are thinking… that will stand apart and be placed in the DENIED pile. I truly believe if I make it past round one I have a stellar chance in the phone interview/personal interview. For pete's sake I would fly to Seattle to have that interview with Nike!
Here are some of my interested companies: General Mills (I would die and go to heaven if I got an interview with them), Nike, Consulting firms, Schwab Investments.
** Underlying goal: get done with the applications and be proud of what I did.
Thesis.
I need to propose the first week I get back. I have not worked on this. Bummer to socializing this week.
Work.
The Hy-Vee Fast Break Clinic is coming up on Jan. 29, and I am the head contact person. Everyone has been great, but I really don't have any confidence in this project because I feel like I'm in the dark. Shoot.
Also I have a birthday party to line up this week for work. Rock it birthday girl!
Computer.
Remember when I dropped my Apple in the middle of the semester. Well I need to get that fixed. But I really cannot be without a computer for a while. AHH!
Training.
Do I have a set schedule? Nope, however, I feel I am more in-shape and aware of what I need to do for this half-marathon training. I have a posting of my workouts. In the future maybe I will elaborate if I felt like death during it or felt spectacular. At least I have it in writing though. And with only one class this semester I feel I can devote more time to training. Rock on.
I know this was a bunch of rambles. Thanks for reading and have a great week folks!
