Slight Wrinkle

I almost bought an iron and ironing board, than I realized that I couldn't. I can't fit a board in my car for the 15th move coming up in January. This wrinkle will, I guess, remain in my life for a while. Solution... waffle iron.Besides this, life has been good. I have worked quite a bit and have sluffed on my running. However, tonight I mapped out my training schedule. Kinda crazy after running for 5 solid years I have never studied a training schedule. Long runs will take place on Sundays. I think I am going to shoot for the Brookings 1/2 marathon and than move onto a full marathon later in the summer or fall.

I bought new shoes!! Asics Impressions.. on clearance at Athlete's Foot. They are pretty nice. I just hate, though, breaking a new running shoe in. You have to put 60-70 miles on before they are just right. That will happen quickly but until that point, ouch! Included in my deal Mike threw in some Asic socks. They are: "“ankle fit." It positions the sock correctly and minimizes chafing against the shoe’s tongue and heel counter. What does that mean? No slippage. No blisters." I just like the prettiness and how it lables the foot. Another accessory to become addicted to!
Christmas shopping I'm horrible at. I still have my entire family, except mom. Grandma, Natalie, Baby, Hackers, and a couple of other important people. I walked around Target for 2 hours, literally, and bought myself a body pillow and gum. Ugh! I have ideas, just don't remember them when I in there. I suppose a list would be useful! I have also thought about what I could send my friends. My thought.. well a Christmas card. However, I would be the only one on there. So I basically look like I'm am obsessed like a body builder. Hmmm.. I'll figure something out.

  1. 60 or 70 miles to break a shoe in?!? Wow that is almost a quarter of the suggested life expectancy of most shoes before they tell you you need to buy another pair :p

  2. I thought it was a bit high, but the guy told me 60-70. I already got a blister from running too far, too soon.

Training stinks though cuz I have the dumb doubles! Hopefully when school comes I will have a more solid schedule...
