SF Thursday trip.... only me.

Thursday = Canaries... I made it to Sioux Falls and meet with Nate, my previous Canaries boss, to talk about what I should be prepared for/ do. He had a lot of great advice, especially about the Little Birds. I realize how far behind I am and how much I have to do in such a short amount of time. I managed to get the list of all the girls from the Little Birds and call them. The problem I am encountering is that I just get the answering machine or that the older girls do not want to be mixed with the younger girls. We will have to just because of the little numbers. Next year I really want this program to thrive. My next mission is to get a coach. It is vital to lock one in this week. Tomorrow I am going to call until I get one.

I also had a promotion meeting with the front staff. There is so much that happens during the beginning of the week that I do not know about and need to get caught up. UGH!!! I can do this though. School is only 5 weeks...

Then I had a meeting with Laurie from Dakota Costume regarding costumes for the upcoming season. She is really nice lady. However when I walked in it is not what I expected. Standing in her shop was a clown. He had his big shoes on, red nose, hair, makeup, etc. Oh man, this is not what I wanted. Laurie was busy with a customer so this is how it went down:
Clown (in a squeeky voice): Hi, I'm Bimbo Hippie!
Me: Hi Bimbo! How are you doing today? New in the area?
Clown: I'm the only bilingual clown in Sioux Falls. I've been professional for 8 years and started in California.
Me: Oh! What did you go to school for?
Clown: Marketing, but I couldn't find a job so I went to clown school. Some people have it some people don't. I have it!
Me: (thinking, shoot that is what I am going for!) Oh really? Are you married than??
Clown: Yes, my wife has been a clown for 7 months.
Now Laurie comes... I see you meet Bimbo Hippie! I'm his agent and I just became Elvis agent too. Now what can I do for you?
In the meantime there is a Tinkerbelle and PeterPan running around the store and Bimbo is making a balloon animal with flower. I asked her if I could come back next week to have the meeting. Laurie agrees and as I walk out Bimbo hands me a sticker with a balloon monkey climbing a flower.

When I got back to the office I didn't even say what happened. Only me. The rest of the day went fine. This week I am scheduled all day Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. I am going to have to be on top of things!!!
