Jack'ed Up!

My life is complete. I was Jack the Jackrabbit.

I was 'randomly' selected to be the SDSU mascot at the Brookings Jackrabbit Reception. This is where area high school students come to the Volstroff Ballroom and ask questions, eat junk food, and possibly win a scholarship. While doing this Ambassadors have to ackwardly mingle with the students and parents, and Jack runs around getting his pictures taken.

Well I debated... be fun, be boring, be creepy, be annoying, or just be crazy. Well I did a little of everything. Jack is usually, not to be mean, but boring because it is usually a whining girl or guy. I was whining but only because I didn't know how I was going to act. Once I got in the suit, it all came back. I was jumpy, creepy, annoying, and fun. I wondered from person to person. Here are some of the stories:

1.) One lady was set on the idea Jack knew her. I had no idea who this lady was but figured to play along. I would randomly show up next to her. I managed to spill her coffee, feed her cheesecake and get a picture with her. She kept calling me Jenny. She was the crazy one

2.) Well I needed to cool off so why not take a walk outside. I walked outside and decided to escort people in. It made them laugh and I got some fresh air.

3.) I bribed people with candy. There is a HUGE difference between 4 year olds in a bird suit, and 17 year old in a rabbit suit. I had to smooze them :) Ps. Still the identity crisis came into factor because was a boy or girl... CONFUSING!!

4.) I had the chance to chuck a chocolate piece at my "favorite" ambassador. It made me laugh because she is definitely not my ray of sunshine on any day!! lol people that know me know who ;)

5.) I also meet Santa Claus today. This big guy wearing a red shirt with suspenders and a big white beard was there. Oh I wanted to snap his suspenders so badly! I refrained because I still wanted my job at the end of the day. But I did get my picture with him and his business card as a mall Santa.
The whole day over all was fun. It brought back a lot of memories and I had a lot of complements. Thank you everyone for being nice. Except there was this was one gentleman. Oh I wanted to punch him in the nose. I was talking to him at the end of the reception when I was out of the suit and I told him he would have to excuse my poor appearance because I was Jack. He proceeds to tell me he knew it couldn't have been this other ambassador because she is much smaller. She would "never fill out the suit." I agree she wouldn't. She is about 6" short and does not have curves. Come on people, think before you talk. This is why people have image issues, because of rude comments. I don't think he meant anything mean but I took it as an insult. Yes I have curves, yes I am taller, yes I am muscular... but I can guarantee you I am in better health than a lot of people and have more endurance than most. So tonight I did a long swim swim and talked to my mom. I promise you I can swim longer/farther and run longer/farther than more people than not. And I know mister you are not on Santa's good list!!
