Griffin - April Wk3

Griffin,
Almost 19 months old you are really starting to shine through with your curiosity, giggles and roars!

What's Happening
This week the snow is FINALLY starting to melt. Today you pulled on your red Hunter rain boots for the first time and took off for the street puddles. The grit and determination to make it to the street without me noticing was impressive. You did manage to make it to the puddles and your face shined with excitement as you tried jumping in them - really only one foot left the ground and you fist pumped in the air.  THE BEST.

You also have started to really understand bikes! As a younger brother you have inherited Briggs' old balance bike.  While you may not be cruising just yet you have managed to walk with the bike which is pretty much adorable.

Climbing onto the table and swinging the light like a little monkey while ooo-eee-aaa-ing and a sly grin melt my heart while frustrating me to no end.  A different tone in my voice makes your lips pucker out and quiver, and we always hug it out.  The testing of a true 19-month-old. While you are climbing to new heights you are also grasping the concept of the potty.  By no means are we potty training, but anytime you hear someone say potty you scurry to the bathroom to sit on your little one. Afterwards you insist on washing your hands. This summer my goal is to have you day-time trained.  Ambitious but achievable.

Books are a favorite of yours.  Currently you are into "Ready, Set, Dig" and "Dinosaur Rumpus". Each time we get to the T-Rex page, you whisper ROAR.

Working On
We are focusing on talking.  The list of words increases each day; however, I am fairly certain I am the only one who understands you.  Mom, Briggs, Dad, Water, Dog, Tractor, I'm Done, Please, Help, Milk, Banana are common.  Also, you like to throw the forks, dishes, and food across the room.  I may or may not have wished for a housecleaner for my birthday to scrub my cupboards.

Prayer
Dear Lord - Thank you for giving us your child Griffin to raise. We may struggle with the communication and tantrums at times, please work on forming the words to convey our emotions. Also, thank you for giving Griffin the spunk to enjoy the small joys in the world such as puddles, bikes, and idolizing a brother. Amen.

{Love and Hugs}
