Cankles

Yesterday I decided to work out, but didn't want to do P90X or run.  I pondered my dilemma all afternoon and made the conclusion to go for a nice walk.  Yet, I wanted to make it more of a challenge than just wandering around town.  What I did next was intense and an ingenious!

I strapped on ten pounds per leg in leg weights.

You may be asking why do I have leg weights?  But, I think the bigger question is who doesn't have leg weights?  '80s are back people, so jump aboard and get 'em while they're hot!

My plan was much deeper than strap them on and go.  I needed to find long socks so my ankles wouldn't get cut, wide legged sweats to cover the massive weights, and a baseball cap so no one could identify me.  Except, when I looked in the mirror I realized that my sweatpant legs were big, but weren't big enough. The pants were the tapered kind… meaning they started to get narrower from the knee down.  So when they reached the ankle area they should have laid nicely over my ankles, but instead the sweatpants legs bubbled out like I had massive cankles!  To top the appearance off my baseball cap that was suppose to hide my identity read "Webster Bearcats."

I'm no secret agent.

I was not deterred and continued with my plans.   I quickly realized my strides felt was more like I was waddling through mud.  The weights were soooo heavy!  Yet, I walked, walked, walked, walked… and than I soon realized I went a little too far in one direction.

What a conundrum!

My legs were heavy, so I took off the weights and was going to carry them back.  I strapped one weight to each hand and started to swing my arms.  Not only did I look like I was endorsing Rock 'em, Sock 'em products, and it felt like I had hairless guerilla arms.  Keeping my head down I continued my mud-trugging and guerilla-swinging adventure.  After 45 minutes I finally reached my apartment.

Never judge anyone until you walk a mile in their shoes.  So do not judge me until you participate in a cankle walk.  Scheduling is now open.
