So another hectic day is done. Today I was in Sioux Falls by 10. I worked hard to get the promotion schedule, cagey appearance, national anthem, and Little Birds application complete and hung on the wall. By noon I was almost finished. But everyone except two people had left the office, so I cancelled the appointment with Nate. Honestly it was alright. In the future I will need to be contacting Chris P. about the wireless mics. So I think that will be a Monday task. Anyways I'm starting to wander off topic. I was getting frustrated because each time I took a step forward, there was a slide back. My meeting with Laurie did not happen at 2 because she had an emergency to get to.. I was on strike 2. I almost lost it at this point but just kept thinking my 3 o'clock would be great.
3 o'clock I was going to meet with Kim Bartling from the USF Theatre Dept. Well when I climbed in my vehicle I realized I had forgotten my notes of the location, but was running short on time so I chanced it. I drove to the USF campus, first time ever on there, and ended up driving to a large building. I decided I would ask the first person I saw and then I would run across campus. Luck was with me! I had stopped at the right building and her room was in the basement.
Right away I could tell she was one of those people that would stuck the energy out of me. Its weird really ideay people just kill me. I love being around them but I am just trying so hard to be creative like them it just.. ugh! We started talking and she said she would give us the costumes!!! So my costume deal went through, thank goodness! She even had a Coke can we could use in the Local Best.com mid-inning promotion. Then her assistant came in and we were introduced. The stars were totally with me because she is the director of the Skyforce Lightening Girls. We talked and I hired her on the spot for the Little Birds... two checks in one trip?! But it gets even better... I now have a Cagey backup. So my day was made even better.
Back at the office Meola, Kuhn and I finalized the promotion schedule. I am pretty pleased with it and believe Nate will have a great time with it :)
I booked it back to Brookings and was about to talk to Arica on the phone. Such a good friend... really am blessed we remained friends through Eric's and my breakup. I literally ran into the Student Union when I got back to work for the Admission Ambassadors. It was selection night. About 60 students tried out for 20 positions. I really really really pray Heather, Johney, Courtney, Erin, and An get the positions. These are fantastic people. Really show the true essence of SDSU.
But there was one horror story. A guy named "Yogi" told of his experiences in the resident halls. He said someone had lit all the flyers on his floor on fire and so he was standing outside at 4:00 am in his boxers.
1.) You do not say that about Resident halls when you are talking to prospective students and parents.
2.) Why would you tell about an alcohol related instant when it is a dry campus!?
3.) PUT SOME PANTS ON!
Selection was done about 9:30 and I'm now going to do some Intermediate Microeconomics and work a little on the ULC newsletter.
