Oreo Cake Balls

It's Christmas time, which means my stomach is about as big as my eyes!  Yes, I am that giddy kid inside a candy store that relishes the idea of being a master goodie chef.  I would like to think that I can create the sweet treats that make your mouth water; however, I'm going to be real.  How many times have heard of me having a successful kitchen experience?  That's what I thought :)  Nonetheless, I am that kid that will continue trying and won't be too discouraged by my failures.. I just have learned awesome lessons like canola oil and corn syrup aren't the same thing.  Who would have guessed?!  Anyways, I was still determined this year to get into the holiday spirited… but I still needed to weigh the pros and cons of making a mountain of goodies.

Pros
1.) Delish - really do I need an explanation?
2.) Rice Krispies commercial - "best family traditions always start in the kitchen."
3.) Eating these treats with no excuses comes only come once a year.

Cons
1.) I would like to fit into my jeans at the end of the day…. but I do love sweatpants!
2.) Typically kitchen equals disaster for me.
3.) I will get a stomach ache.

I was debating and debating, and than Evan bought us a cookie jar! YAY!!  (Someday I hope to get something cute and sweet etched on this cookie jar.).  This was the sign I needed - "yes, it was okay to become a Betty for the night."  So last night Evan and I embarked on our first cookie mission.

Let me tell you… I prep in the weirdest way.  I go running and watched the food network when I am going to go bake.  I have no idea why I watch the food network while running.  I am filled with such false hope because I think that I'm Betty's protege.  One hundred percent false hope instilled in me.

Anyways, after my workout I was ready to meet up with Evan in the kitchen.  The cookie of choice was Oreo Cake Pops.  So easy even I can do it.  Bonus, if you want to increase your chances of getting diabetes this is an awesome way.

It was an awesome evening with Evan!  We had Christmas music going with Ross, Evan and I trying to sing lyrics.  Evan was trying to figure out a better way to dip the cookies while I was dancing around.  True happiness was felt in that kitchen!  Now our cookie jar is filled with delicious cookies, and ready to share with guests!

Oreo Cake Pops
2 packages cream cheese (we used fat free… kinda healthy?)
1 package Oreos
Chocolate

Crush the Oreos in a ziplock bag… cream and all.  Then stir together the cream cheese and crushed Oreos.  The mixture into little balls and freeze for 30 minutes.  Next, dip the frozen goodness into chocolate and then let them harden on tinfoil.  Finally, devour them!
