I need to get done with this take home exam - a 12 page essay. Four pages left, but only after my adventures from last night..
I had decided I was going to leave my apartment and go somewhere to focus. I thought of a gas station, a church, the union, library... however, my logically thinking lead me to choose Perkins. Several great reasons: open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday, has pre-made food such as ice cream, caffeine such as DC, and no one would guess I was there. I would be able to be away from distractions.
When I arrived I felt somewhat foolish because it was a Saturday night. I asked the cashier if it was okay if I sat and did my homework by a plug in. The staff put me in the back room where they closed the doors and even adjusted the heat. How sweet of them! It was also really interesting who came in and what they acted like. Prisoners, Indians, Cops, Hookers... very special times.
I thought I was set....Wrong.
I had been there only an hour when Nick found out where I was. He decided he wanted to eat pancakes and tell his thoughts. I seriously wanted to tell him to let me be a nerd and do my homework on Halloween Eve. Really Nick! Oh well. He was half drunk and decided to sit right next to me. I thought this was odd because most people will sit across. Whatever... he left about midnight I was set again to hit my books.
Darin and Evan came about 1:30 a.m. to give me a break... thank goodness otherwise I will just go crazy reading theories.About 2:45 a.m. I was back at the books. I really wanted to just forfeit because I knew it was going to be a long night. The staff was super nice though. They didn't mind me just sitting there all night and even gave me a pumpkin muffin on the house. About 6:00 a.m. I called it a night. I knew in a few hours I would have to be at work.
Long story short: Perkins has now just received my highest recommendation... for whatever that is worth :)
But I am tired. 3 hours of sleep are not legit because I am old. And I still have 4 pages to go.
