Words cannot express my feeling for this picture. Lil' L's senior homecoming week.
I'm not sure where he got the bibs, but the suit is a morph. He saw it at the SDSU v. Illinois game two weeks ago.
He was determined to get one and told the kids at Webster school. However, he was unsure of what others would think, so called me up to see what I thought. Of course I wasn't thinking before I told him it was a really neat idea that would draw quite a bit of attention. Aka, he should do it! We talked for a few more minutes and I realized that my mom had no idea what was happening underneath her nose. I told Lands to see what her opinion was... his response: "I don't care." Uh-oh, I had just endorsed an idea and my mom would have to be the one to deal with it. I called my mom a while later. Poor Bill! I told her Landon's plan. Unfortunately she had already heard and when she told him no Landon fired back that I thought it was a great idea! Talk about being in the middle, but 90 miles away! Anyways my advice to her was to let him buy it with his own money, call the principle to double check Landon wouldn't get sent home from school, and make sure he wears clothes over it.
The next day Landon went to school and told everyone. By the end of the first day he had 31 orders!! Since most high schoolers don't have credit card, my poor mom had to use her credit card to order this and was paranoid that the principle would get upset and that she was contributing. Again I received a call from her at 11:30pm. I told her to call him ASAP in the morning before she actually purchased these. She called him at 6:30am to forewarn him. The principle thought it was hilarious, but had to check with the athletic director to make sure it wasn't against any sporting rules for fans to dress like this. Soon my mom and Landon got the green light and the only requirement was that they had to wear clothes over it.
Well now 31 kids (more as still ordering) are coloring the stands for the Bearcats. I have some mixed feelings that Landon was the instigator - proud, worried, enthused. Yet I can see these kids raising a lot of chaos. Whatever - have fun while you can Lands!
My mom called him blueberry when he was younger... I guess he has finally grown into it.
Our lil' blueberry is actually blue! Too cute :)
