Being the independent, stubborn, and adventurous self that I am, I decided to take the challenge on myself. I looked at the manual and decided I didn't want to read it. I mean it seems logical that a scooter will be 200 times easier than a vehicle because it is 200 times smaller. For pete sakes I do not even need to license it! On the way to Wal-Mart I called mom and told her my newest adventure. She asked if I was going to change the filter too and why I was trying this on my own. (She knows how these ideas go). I hadn't thought of this. Yes, I am absolutely clueless with vehicles, but I am going to learn. Promise.
Instead of picking up oil right away I went to the auto center and inquired about the filter.
Side note: I new I was a sight to be seen because I had a dress on and had ridden up on the scooter. I am pretty pumped I have mastered this skill. Also, the dress is fairly long and grabs around my knees so it isn't too difficult, just don't lean too much with the knees :)
Anyways there was a lady working. I asked her if they carried filters for scooters and if she thought I needed to change it when changing the oil. She didn't know, so she went to get a mechanic. The young guy came up and I asked the same question. His grin was HUGE and couldn't help but smile at my question if WalMart had scooter filters. He said they didn't. At that point I should just keep my mouth shut, but that is not my style. I than asked how much a scooter oil change run. Omgoodness, did he laugh and hollered at another mechanic to confirm this thoughts of NO. He said he had never done it and didn't think Wal-Mart did it. Only slightly embarrassed I said that it probably wasn't too much because it was a scooter and left.
Wal-Mart does not have everything. Scooter oil & filter change are not located there.
