MinnesOta

This weekend I headed to Alexandria, MN, for a weekend of fun with some college friends. Six of us piled into the vehicle on Friday with snowshoes, swim suits, boardgames, and cross country skiing equipment. I really had no idea what to expect because I was not that familiar with Mt. Caramel. Dan was the camp instructor, so that is how we got the hook up.
Friday when we arrived at 11:30p.m. we decided to sauna and than polar bear it. Keep in mind it is NEGATIVE 19*. Nasty cold, but how can you turn something like this down? We were sweaty crazily and than ran from the sauna and rolled in the snow 4 times in a row. Needless to say it wasn't bad until you could feel the prickling and burning from the snow.

Saturday we woke up extra early to watch the sun rise. I forget how nice and peaceful it is to be on a lake and watching the magnificant awaking of the day. After that brunch and meeting of the camp director, Johan, and the Muslin Maidens, a bunch of quilters. Turns out these ladies had a crazy imagination too. Two were from Webster and we talked them into doing the polar bearing with us later that night :) Nice job Julie!

During the day we went cross country skiing for a couple of miles. I had been skiing before, but never on precut paths. It was pretty nice and easy going until the hills. I don't believe many people can get whip lash when cross country skiing. However, I am special :) My first spill I managed to hit my head. But that is something minor that will disappear with time.

**pause** i'm lame and going to bed :)
