Farmer Appreciation Night

Well I must say the promotions at the Canaries have been very.. well.. er, unique? I have incorporated different promotions that I have seen from back home into the "big city" lifestyle of Sioux Falls residences.
First off apologies for not updating this sooner, but I have yet to get internet at the apartment. I probably won't too.
Second, FARMER APPRECIATION NIGHT! It was of the last days of May. I thought it would be great to pull out all the stops. Well one idea was to have old antique tractors line the walk way up to the field. Nate, my assistant did a great job lining up the owners to come out and do this. We also had haybales scattered throughout the ballpark. Then I had an idea. Bless the Wehde's little hearts. I wanted a chicken. A chicken so we could play chicken-poop-bingo.
No one in the office thought I would actually bring a chicken in and do this. Even more motivation for me to accomplish this :)
I called Barb and asked her if I could get one that afternoon from her farm. At about 2:00 I headed to Garretson to choose my rooster.
When arriving Barb had me slip on some knee high work boots and told me to follow her to the hen house. YES! She totally conquered those chickens and grabbed one and stuck it in a dog carrier. Well I drive a car and thought hmm this should be interesting driving a car with a chicken in the back seat. I was right, the darn thing crowed the entire way to Sioux Falls!
Once we got there.... pause... coffee shop is closing!
