Play ball!

I cannot believe it is happening. Tomorrow, May 2nd, I will be MCing my first baseball game. Yeah, it is only an exhibition game, but still how many people have this type of opportunity!?

Above is the Birdcage in Sioux Falls. This is where 48 games will be played this summer and I will help run each one!!
A lot of people do not understand what my job entails. And sometimes I am a little shocked about it too! But I will give you a brief snippet.
This is my desk area. Last year I had the opportunity to work with a great boss, Nate, and some awesome co-workers. Nate taught me a lot of the program. Yes it looks like a whirlwind hit the desk but it is actually quite organized!

This is one program I am incharge of. It is called Sioux Falls Arts Council Paint 2nd Base. Every double that the Canaries hit at home a certain amount of money will go into a fund to help the SF arts. It is really neat because a local child can paint the base and it is actually used in the game! This wa I particularly love!

The Little Bird cheerleaders have been a challenge this year. It is a group of young girls ages 5-15 that cheer during the games. I had to hire a coach, conduct a parent meeting, recruit, and order uniforms. I am so frazzled by this group because it seems nothing runs smoothly! In the long run though, look how adorable these little girls are and the excitement they have for the hometown team!

Come to the games, eat some hot dogs and cokes, cheer on the Canaries, and join me for some on field fun... PLEASE!!!
