Junior: This was a crazy, crazy year. I had the chance to travel with the National FFA Newsroom crew to Indiana. Only one of fifteen selected across the nation. Really really
fortunate. It was my first year off campus. I could not stand Berg/Baily. Definitely not what I expected. I was able to move across town at semester to a cute house with four girls I did not know. This year was the year I took the spring break of a lifetime. I went with my former boyfriend and his five guy friends and one other girl. Sharing one hotel room on Panama City Beach was amazing. The girl, Arica, has become someone I talk to each week on the phone for an hour. She has really been there for me when
we broke up and has been really encouraging with everything I have taken on. Right now she is actually making kids' days better by being in the cancer unit in AZ. Junior year also had the test of whether or not I had the will power to take on a bet. The bet was I couldn't last the entire second semester without driving. So I walked. I walked in -32* weather, I walked in rain, I even rode my bike in the snow and wiped out. It was intense.
Senior: Amazing. Honestly coming off one heck of a summer, there is no words to describe this incredible journey. I worked as an Admission Ambassador for two years now and the Peer Minister of Publicity at the University Lutheran Center. These two jobs have kept me super
busy. But I am so proud of both of these organizations/jobs that I really put my whole heart into them. ULC has now had two newsletters, posters each week, and a Christmas card. Admissions has been tours, receptions, and TGIFs. Another thing I have done has been quite a bit of volunteering. I have worked with Habitat for Humanity, the United Retirement Center, Harvest Table, and various other
places. This has been not only beneficial in keeping my mind from wandering and making people's lives better, but has provided me a sense of what I would like to volunteer with in SF next year. I hope to work with the Foster Care system. Another thing has been my steady workout routine. I have made some amazing friends at the Wellness Center and they continue to evolve. I have joined water aerobics and the elders are hilarious. Sometimes they sing opera, other times they talk about jello, or their grandkiddies. It really makes me
want to be active and fit when I am 70 years old! Spring break was to Tecate-Tijuana, Mexico. WOW. I cannot describe how that changed my life. To sum up the trip I learned to walk more humbly with God. Finally I will be graduating in one month exactly. AHH! I have been blessed to have an amazing job with the SF Canaries Baseball team as the Director of Promotions. This has kept me busy with driving down on Thursdays to work.
But this is hardly justice for the amount of maturity and knowledge and fun I have been blessed with throughout my experience at SDSU. Someday I hope to handwrite a thank you to every professor and worker and friend that has touched my life. For now ... THANK YOU!
